🔋 Bits Battery

As previewed in our last update, the Bits Battery is now rolling out! The Bits Battery will use it’s charge to generate in Nilo and will automatically recharge overtime.

You'll now see your charge in the new battery meter where your wallet used to be, and you can top up your bonus bits on your profile page like before.

This is a large change to how Nilo works and is intended to make easier to create throughout the month rather than waiting for a reset, so please let us know what you think!

🐱 Creature Rigging

We’ve upgraded our rigging system to be more reliably and quicker at the task! Plus, you can now rig creature-like models. We don’t yet have animations in Nilo for these new creature rigs, but you can still export them to other platforms to adjust and animate your model.

🤖 Tripo P2

We added Tripo P2 as a new 3D model generation option! Switch to it any time with the ⚙️ Gear icon when you generate. It's built for clean, game-ready models and comes with a 48 - 50,000 polycount range so you can dial the detail to exactly what your world needs.

🎨 GPT Image 2.5 Flare

We added a new image model to Idea Forge, GPT Image 2.5 Flare! It can create high quality images efficiently so we’ve made Image 2.5 Flare the default for generating and editing your 2D concepts. On top of that we’ve currently made the model completely Free to create with! You can still use the ⚙️ Gear icon any time to switch to a different AI model.

💡 Changes & Fixes

  • Improved webcam capture for animations with a front/rear camera switch, better camera selection, and clearer feedback while you record.

  • New objects now get auto-numbered names when you create them, so you won't end up with a pile of identically-named entities.

  • Tweaked the UI of the Level of Detail (LOD) slider to display polygon count more clearly.

  • Updated our physics engine be a little smoother and easier to use.

  • Fixed an issue with Attachments when adding the objects to the Builder Bag.

  • Fixed an issue where some devices still showed a black or white screen on low-end devices.

  • Fixed an issue where uploading a GLB model could fail with a "no model URL" error.

🔋 Bits Battery

Coming within the next month, Nilo is changing how Bits work. Today, if you use up your monthly Bits, you’re stuck waiting for multiple weeks until your reset date to create again. That’s frustrating, and difficult to plan out your wallet for. So we’re getting rid of the monthly wall entirely and changing how the wallet works.

With the Bits Battery, your ability to generate is based on a charge. The Bits Battery refills continuously over time instead of resetting once a month.

We’ve put together a short FAQ here to answer your questions that will be maintained leading up to the change: https://nilo.io/blog/introducing-bits-battery
